The year in summary

Time flies!
In retrospect I've taken on quite a number of projects in the last year!
Many thanks especially to my friends who have given me a chance to work on stationery for such happy events as weddings and baby showers... You guys are the best!

Now, what can I do for you? :)

10.10.10

It's been some time since my last post. I haven't been slacking. :) Instead, I have been trying to "win" projects, a good number of them for weddings in October, a very favoured month for weddings this year.

And today, I've finally completed the projects - one AP box, and 30 handmade cards for a simple solemnisation - a perfect number for handmade cards. As per my personal policy, no pics until the event is over so I don't spoil the surprise. :)

And more weddings!

So I've managed to convince a couple more friends to let me handle their wedding stationery. Hurray! Hope to have more products to display on this website in the following months before I'm back to work and then this website goes quiet again. :P

I've also launched handmayde on facebook! Be a fan! Haha.

Marcus & Adriel - 4 July 2009

Hurray for this lilac wedding!
Only after the wedding did I realise I should have taken pics of the finished products being used on the day itself! But my hands were full carrying our little boy around and my mind preoccupied with ways and means to keep the little boy entertained. I hope the professional photographer took some! I don't have a pic of the wedding programme! Point to remember for the next wedding...
More pics on facebook...
Thank you, you two, for letting me be a part of your wedding! :)
Final products: 2 Angpao boxes, Church invites, Wedding programme, Bridesmaids hairpieces, Wrist corsages, Unity candle
Suggested products: Bookmarks for wedding favours

Weddings

Did I mention that I love weddings? :) And it's always much easier when I'm not the bride! That way I can really focus on the part I like best - conceptualising the wedding stationery.

Watch this space for a romantic lilac/purple wedding coming up in July...

For sale - A pair of bridesmaid dresses

A pair of the above knee-length chiffon dress in a peachy pink with pink satin trimmings.
Size M - US 6/UK 8/FR 38/ITA 40
These were the original bridesmaid dresses, but I changed my mind. :P Brand new!

For sale - The perfect bridesmaid dress

This is what I dressed my bridesmaids in. In a luxurious ivory chiffon and satin, with a row of diamante. Looks expensive!

I have a pair of these knee-length dresses in excellent condition.
They come with matching chiffon shawls too.
Both are a size M.

I also have a piece in Gold but in a size S.

For sale - Pink Gown

Been receiving enquiries about some of the gowns I'm selling and requests for pictures.
So instead of uploading them repeatedly, here they are, even though they barely have anything to do with being 'handmayde'.
Please help me clear space in my wardrobe! :)

This is a lovely floor-length pink organza daniel yam gown with attached shawl which can be tied in a variety of styles. Just ask any daniel yam sales person for a demonstration.

The piece I have has only been worn once and is in excellent condition.
Size M.

Back in Business

New home, new camera, new designs.
After a 3 month break for my own wedding and adjusting to married life, I've finally made another card today! A feat, considering my severely limited resources in this new home. All my fancy schmancy tools and printer are back at my parents' home. But, I've got a new camera! So hopefully the pictures of my handiwork will be improved. : )

My Wedding - Church Favours

Did you enjoy the mini donuts that filled these take-out boxes?
Did the quotes that were specially chosen and put in each box speak to you and warm your heart?
I love how these church wedding favours turned out... especially since this gesture of gratitude is most often neglected or omitted at weddings.

My Wedding - Penholders

Matching penholders for the ang pow box to grace the reception table...

(These too are for sale together with the ang pow box. Personalised ribbon not included, sorry. )

My Wedding - Invitation Card

The first clue to the wedding theme... the wedding invitation card.

This card evolved from multiple prototypes and ideas throughout the months that could eventually become YOUR wedding invitation card... Just ask. :) I'm still bursting with ideas...

My Wedding - Ang Pow Box

The wedding is over and I finally managed to squeeze out some time for myself to update the pictures of the 'handmayde' wedding items you've all been waiting for...

For starters, in a practice that is completely unique to Singaporeans - the 'handmayde' ang pow box...

With a slit large enough to fit most wedding cards as well. I get mildly peeved by ang pow boxes that don't fit even a DL sized card (for the uninitiated, that's about 10cm width) - money doesn't always have to come in the impersonal "quick-fix" little red packet.

For a one-off-use item like an ang pow box, I used material that was already lying around in the house. The flowers were the same ones my husband used to decorate the proposal venue. :)

This ang pow box is now for SALE! Or I could make you another in your favourite colour... :)

Wedding Congratulations

Also a thank you card, an invitation, a birthday card... anything is possible.
